"Argo" has nabbed its fourth metropolitan critics prize, taking top honors from the Phoenix Film Critics Society

Only "Zero Dark Thirty" has been No. 1 on more critics groups to date this season. "Argo" topped a top-10 list that also included "The Avengers,"
"Beasts of the Southern Wild,"
"Les Miserables,"
"Life of Pi,"
"Moonrise Kingdom,"
"Silver Linings Playbook,"
"Skyfall" and "Zero."

"Argo" also won in adapted screenplay (Chris Terrio) and film editing (William Goldenberg). Wes Anderson and Roman Coppola triumphed in original screenplay for "Moonrise Kingdom," which also finished first in production design.  

Kathryn Bigelow snagged director honors for "Zero," which also had the winning lead actress in Jessica Chastain. Daniel Day-Lewis of "Lincoln" was named top lead actor. 

Supporting kudos went to Philip Seymour Hoffman of "The Master" and Anne of "Les Miserables."

"Wreck-It Ralph" was named top animated film, "The Intouchables" best in foreign language and "Searching for Sugar Man" first in docs. "Skyfall" won in both original score and song. 

"Life of Pi" chalked up more honors in visual effects and cinematography, while "Anna Karenina" won in costume design.
