Notes from around the enterainment awards circuit you may have missed – or may be eager to relive in all their glory …

 Pickford— The film academy has teamed up with the Mary Pickford Foundation on a multiyear project to promote the legacy of Pickford and the silent film era. That endeavor will include screenings, preservation of film and memoribilia, and digitization of components of the Academy’s Mary Pickford collection. An initial event will take place Sept. 11. Details can be found at the AMPAS website

— Monday brings an invitation-only cocktail reception for the TV Academy’s performers peer group at the Sheraton Universal. Newly ensconced governor Lily Tomlin will co-host with fellow governor Bob Bergen and the group’s exec committee. Among those scheduled to attend are Mayim Bialik, Ty Burrell, Bryan Cranston, Zooey Deschanel, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Max Greenfield, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Amy Poehler and Eric Stonestreet.
