Mel Brooks earns AFI life achievement honor

Comedy genius Mel Brooks will recieve the life achievement award from the American Film Institute at a gala tribute June 6. Dave McNary has details in Variety.

Above is "The Critic," a 1963 short that Brooks wrote and narrated — and won him his first Oscar.
