— Peter Jackson's "The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey" will have its U.S.
at an AFI benefit in New York on Dec. 6, at the Ziegfeld Theatre.

— "Lincoln" star Daniel Day-Lewis is the latest selection for the Nov. 7 Britannia Awards, earning the Stanley Kubrick award for excellence in film. 

— Quentin Tarantino will be this year's screenwriter honoree at the Hollywood Awards.

— Jon Burlingame will host AMPAS event "The Music of Bond: The First 50 Years" at the Samuel Goldwyn Theater on Friday.

— Out of 7,197 submissions, 10 finalists for Nicholl Fellowships in screenwriting have been named by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. Fellows will be honored Nov. 8 at the Beverly Wilshire.

— The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences has named the honorees for the 2013 Technology and Engineering Emmy Awards, which will take place Jan. 10 at CES in Las Vegas. A full list can be found here.
