GKIDS animation showcase spotlights Oscar contenders

Six potential animated Oscar nominees — four for this year’s awards, two for the year after — will screen at the GKIDS Animated Showcase Nov. 14-18. This will be the first time the
six new films have played in Los Angeles, with two making their U.S. debut.

To qualify for the Oscars, animated film entries face a Nov. 1 submissions deadline with the film academy.
