“Silver Linings Playbook” star Bradley Cooper will receive the Desert Palm achievement award for acting at the Palm Springs Film Festival’s awards gala. The ceremony will be held Jan. 5 during the 24th edition of the desert film fest, which runs Jan. 3-14.
Also being honored at the event are the cast of “Argo,” Sally Field, Helen Hunt, Naomi Watts and Robert Zemeckis.
“Cooper’s portrayal of Pat Solution is a career-best performance that has created Oscar buzz and has audiences rooting for him despite the challenges he faces throughout the film,” said festival chairman Harold Matzner.
Past honorees of the Desert Palm achievement award include Jeff Bridges, Daniel Day-Lewis, Colin Firth, Brad Pitt, Sean Penn and John Travolta.
