“CSI” creator Anthony Zuiker and MediaLink chairman-CEO Michael Kassan will anchor the afternoon keynote conversation at Variety’s Entertainment and Technology Summit, to be held April 30 at the Ritz-Carlton in Marina Del Rey.
In addition to creating the “CSI” franchise for TV, Zuiker has expanded his imprint to the digital content realm: He launched the BlackBoxTV horror channel on YouTube this month, and will roll out “Cybergeddon,” a cross-platform film event bowing in installments on Yahoo this fall and encompassing immersive storytelling, social media and gaming.
Kassan, a regular speaker at some of the industry’s major media conferences, founded MediaLink in 2004. The advisory and business development firm offers clients guidance on marketing, advertising, media, entertainment and digital technology.
Zuiker and Kassan are among the media innovators gathering for the daylong conference, at which writer-producer Damon Lindelof is slated for the morning keynote conversation.
Other notable speakers scheduled for the summit include Drew Buckley of Electus, Sony’s Amy Carney, Univision’s Kevin Conroy, Bart Decrem of Disney Mobile, 20th Century Fox’s Aubrey Freeborn, producer Gale Anne Hurd, Fremantle’s David Luner, Conde Nast’s Dawn Ostroff, producer Brian Robbins, UTA Digital’s Brent Weinstein and NBCU Digital’s Vivi Zigler.
