LONDON — Power to the Pixel, the U.K.-based digital cross-media development, production and finance company, has announced the 30 projects selected to participate in The Pixel Market.The two-day co-production mart is held during the annual Cross-Media Forum in association with the BFI London Film Festival. Selected from nearly 100 submissions, up from 25 in 2010, eight of the chosen participants have also been selected to compete for the Arte Pixel Pitch Prize. The award, sponsored by the French-German broadcaster, presents the winning team with £6,000 ($9,700). It will be judged at The Pixel Pitch by an international panel of commissioning editors and financiers. The 30 market projects also have a chance to win one of three new prizes: the beActive Pixel Market Comedy prize; the Mozilla Pixel Market Prize for Non-Fiction; and the Cinekid Pixel Market Prize, for a project aimed at children between 4 and 14. All winners will be announced at an awards ceremony Oct. 18. The Pixel Market is dedicated to financing international cross-media properties. Its Cross-Media Forum, now in its sixth year, looks at trends in audience behavior and new biz models in the sector.
