LONDON — On-demand service Lovefilm has inked with Miramax giving subscribers in the U.K. and Germany access to the indie’s library.
Pics include Quentin Tarantino’s “Kill Bill” movies, Paul Thomas Anderson’s “There Will Be Blood” and Martin Scorsese’s “The Aviator.”
Jim Buckle, managing director of Lovefilm, said, “This deal will enable us to deliver even more high-quality content to our members and reinforce our leading position as the first choice subscription service.”
Lovefilm, bought by Amazon in 2011, has more than two million members in the U.K., Germany and Scandinavia. In the past 12 months it has signed film and TV content deals with 20th Century Fox, Universal, Warner Bros., ABC, the BBC, ITV, Studiocanal and eOne.
