Digital outreach among top cablers

Showman of the Year 2012: A+E Networks

Social media is playing an important role in A+E Networks’ digital reach.

Nearly 22 million unique visitors engage with the company’s digital brands, including 6.4 million on History.com. There’s also History’s Facebook page, which highlights the network’s programming and engages the 11 million fans who visit. That puts it in the top three of all cable networks.

On the gaming front, series History skeins “Pawn Stars,” “Storage Wars,” as well as Lifetime’s “Top Shot” all draw users looking for an alternative experience that helps bring the shows to life.

Those looking for stories on motherhood come to LifetimeMoms.com, which consists of more than 100 blogs run by real moms. The femme-skewing cabler draws more than 3.6 million monthly users to its site.
