Brian Robbins' YouTube channel draws $3.5 million

Veteran producer Brian Robbins has attracted $3.5 million in funding for his new YouTube channel.

MK Capital led the Series A investment round, with other contributors including Greycroft Venture Partners and New World Ventures. Robbins, whose credits include “Smallville” and “Varsity Blues,” launched AwesomenessTV in June, and has since collected over 10 million video views.

AwesomenessTV is the latest investment in online video programming from MK Capital, which has also funded other players in the space including Machinima, Movieclips.com and DramaFever.
