Fans of “Family Guy” can join the cast of their beloved Fox series–sorta.
20th Century Fox has launched into open beta Family Guy Online, a free browser-based multiplayer game that lets users become animated avatars in the mold of the show’s iconic characters. Game can be found at familyguyonline.com. The show’s writers helped inform the creative vision of the game, and “Family Guy” voice talent contributed as well. Players navigate a three-dimensional version of the series’ home town, Quahog, where they interact with show characters and each other. “This experience is a digital extension of the television show, which captures the best elements of the television show and combines them with multiplayer gameplay,” said Gary Rosenfeld, senior VP of 20th’s consumer products division.
