Primetime’s Election Play: “The Simpsons” Mr. Burns Backs Romney

The final days of the campaign have seen a handful of primetime shows chime in, in their own way, on the potential results. The conclusion to the “30 Rock” election cliffhanger aired on Wednesday, and on Friday, “Last Man Standing” with Tim Allen is tied to next Tuesday’s vote. Other shows, like “The New Normal,” have engaged in partisanship. Today the creators of “The Simpsons’ debuted a video in which Mr. Burns endorses Mitt Romney, raising just about every embarassing situation for the Republican nominee, most of all Seamus the dog.

“I have to say that despite those unimaginable horrible good job numbers, we are feeling pretty confident,” Burns says in the video.
