President Obama’s Next Late Night Stop: Jimmy Fallon

President Obama will tape a segment for “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon” on Tuesday at the University of North Carolina, an attempt to reach younger audiences in akey battleground state this fall.

Winning North Carolina is one of the route’s that Obama’s campaign has mapped for reelection, and the president will be in the state to push for an extension of cuts to interest rates for student loans.

Obama become the first president to make an in-studio visit to a late night talk show when he appeared on “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno” in March, 2009. He has since appeared again on Leno, as well as “Late Show with David Letterman” and “The Daily Show with Jon Stewart.” This will be his first appearance on Fallon. Although Obama has yet to appear on ABC’s “Jimmy Kimmel Live,” although they will share the dais at the White House Correspondents Assn. dinner on April 28.
