On the Trail: Springsteen Returns to Campaign for Obama

Bruce Springsteen will return to the campaign trail on Monday when he joins President Obama at a rally in Madison, Wis., on Monday, the day before the election, the AP reported.

Springsteen already has campaigned for Obama’s reelection with appearances in Ohio, Iowa and Virginia, but this will be the first event where he is joining the president on the trail.

Elsewhere, Jack Black will participate in get-out-the-vote efforts for Obama today and on Friday in Ohio. Ryan Adams staged an acoustic performance for the campaign in Boulder, Colo., on Monday.

On the other side of the spectrum, Jon Voight, Kelsey Grammer and Jon Ratzenberger have been campaigning for Mitt Romney in Nevada and other swing states.

Update: The Obama campaign has announced that Springsteen will travel with Obama to Columbus, where they will be joined by Jay Z, who will introduce the president after his performance. Springsteen will then trek with the president to Des Moines, where he will again perform, and where the Obama campaign will end.

Obama told People that Springsteen’s “We Take Care of Our Own” would be the “pump-it-up” song he’d play if reelected, while Romney said Kid Rock’s “Born Free” would fit that bill.
