No business is changing more than music and Frankenheimer is as close as anyone to the moving parts. He repped longtime client Warner Music in its auction and ultimate sale to Len Blavatnik’s Access Industries. Other clients include fast-growing Glassnote Records, Superfly Presents, the agency behind fests Bonnaroo and OutsideLands, and hot music app TuneWiki, for which he helped wrest licenses from the music community. “The companies that are trying to come up with innovative solutions to monetize the convergence of technology and content are the ones poised to move the needle, and move all of us into a newly defined industry,” he says. He helped Ron Burkle’s Yucaipa Cos. subsid Y Entertainment acquire music booking agency Artist Group Intl., and reps Irving Azoff’s Front Line Management. On the talent side, he reps such big names as Diana Ross, Quincy Jones and Colbie Caillat, and newcomers like Seattle singer-songwriter Noah Gundersen and YouTube sensation Andra Day. Frankenheimer also been working with high-net worth individuals from outside the industry who are quietly starting to become interested in the music space. “It’s a trend worth noting,” he says.
