Dealmakers Impact Report 2012: Legal Eagles

Rosenbloum repped Digital Media Assn. (Apple, Microsoft, Google, Amazon, Real Networks, Rhapsody) in negotiations settling an agreement with the recorded music and music publishing industries regarding the statutory publishing rates for 2013-18 with respect to wide array of digital music services, making it possible to avoid multimillion-dollar litigation before the Copyright Royalty Board. He also reps Harmonix in connection with all licensing matters for music gaming products, including Rockband. In tandem with attorney Joel Katz, Rosenbloum repped the Recording Academy in connection with 10-year license agreement with the CBS network for the annual Grammy Awards program and related Grammy-branded programming, and the Latin Recording Academy in a six-year deal with Univision for the Latin Grammys telecast. “As the music industry changes, there are so many struggles about who gets what share of the pie,” says Rosenbloum. “We help increase the size of the pie when we work with clients who offer innovative ways to deliver content to people.”
