Apple’s net income surged to $13 billion from $6 billion last quarter as revenue skyrocketed 73% to $46 billion.
Apple, of Cupertino, Calif., said it shipped over 37 million iPhones and 15.4 million iPads for the fiscal first quarter, far ahead of analysts’ estimates. IPad sales alone were up 111% over the same frame a year ago. The company is still high on Apple TV, despite a slew of TV manufacturers adding similar interactive functionality into their sets that were introduced at CES in Las Vegas.
