TLC has tapped Amy Winter as its new g.m.-exec VP.
Edward Sabin was named group chief operating officer for Discovery and TLC. Both will report to group prexy Eileen O’Neill.
Winter will oversee all aspects of programming, production, development, new media and marketing for TLC. She fills the role previously held by O’Neill, who was promoted in mid-January.
“Amy and Edward bring a combination of strong creative and business experience with leadership qualities that can get the most out of people and partners,” O’Neill said. “In their new roles, I am confident they will help us to continue building on the strong performances we are currently delivering.”
Sabin will oversee all strategy, network operations, financial and business matters for Discovery’s two Stateside flagships nets. He previously served as chief operating officer of TLC.
In programming news, TLC will follow the pre-wedding activities and ceremony for comedian and “Clean House” host Niecy Nash and fiance Jay Tucker. The entire wedding experience will air as a two-hour spec. T Group Prods. produces.
Cabler has long found a niche with the wedding genre. Top-rated shows include “Say Yes to the Dress” as well as spinoffs “Atlanta” and “Big Bliss.”
Net will also offer weeklong programming beginning April 24 on the marriage of Prince William and Kate Middleton, which will take place April 29.
