Series retains nearly all of 'Royal Pains' lead-in
Callie Thorne starrer “Necessary Roughness” drew 4.7 million overall viewers for USA, retaining nearly all of its lead-in from the season-three premiere of “Royal Pains.”
Airing at 10 p.m., “Roughness” pulled in approximately 2 million viewers in the 25-54 and 18-59 demos, more than 95% of the “Royal Pains” figures. “Pains” improved by 13% in overall viewers compared with the January launch of the second half of its second season, and 23% in 18-49. “Roughness” outperformed the January series premiere “Fairly Legal,” which USA subsequently renewed for a second season, by 20% overall and nearly 30% in the key demos.
