Inaugural event explores TV's evolution
Some of the TV biz’s top decisionmakers and creatives are onboard to explore the industry’s pressing issues at Variety’s inaugural TV Summit, taking place Tuesday at the Renaissance Hotel in Hollywood.
List of speakers includes “Glee” exec producer Dante Di Loreto; HBO prexy of programming Michael Lombardo; Fox TV Studios prexy David Madden; “Hawaii Five-0” thesp Masi Oka; “Fringe” and “Hawaii Five-0” exec producer Roberto Orci; “Grey’s Anatomy” creator-exec producer Shonda Rhimes; TBS, TNT and Turner Classic Movies exec VP-head of programming Michael Wright; and “CSI” creator-exec producer Anthony Zuiker.
The 2011 TV Summit, hosted by the Television Academy Foundation and Variety, offers attendees the chance to converse with some of the industry’s top execs and creative forces as they discuss the evolution of the medium in the face of new technology and changing audience behavior.
Event will benefit educational initiatives by the Television Academy Foundation, including its internship program, the College Television Awards, various scholarships and the Faculty Seminar effort.
