TruTV renews ‘Hardcore Pawn’

Season four preem strong for reality skein

Immediately following its fourth season debut, “Hardcore Pawn” has been given a fifth season renewal by TruTV.

Popular reality skein drew 1.9 million viewers for its first episode at 9 p.m. Tuesday and then increased that figure to 2.2 million a half-hour later for another new episode.

In the 18-49 demo, the two episodes drew 816,000 and 1 million viewers, respectively.

Production on a 13-episode fifth season will begin later this year. Show centers on American Jewelry and Loan, a Detroit-based family-owned pawn shop.

Skein, which launched in August 2010 and is exec produced by Natalka Znak, Claire O’Donohoe, Mike Gamson and Richard Dominick, is produced by reality shingle Zodiak USA.
