Travel Channel orders ‘Dead Files’

Unscripted series to bow Sept. 23

Travel Channel has greenlit “The Dead Files,” a new unscripted series from Painless Productions that pairs former NYPD detective Steve DiSchiavi with psychic Amy Allan to explore crime scenes. Show is scheduled to premiere at 10 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 23.

For a “Dead Files” lead-in, the net has renewed “Ghost Adventures” for a fifth season. Show will air Fridays at 9 o’clock starting the same day; “Adventures” onces again follows a crew of thrill seekers to sites with disturbing histories as they seek out ghosts.

Dead Files” will run for eight episodes on Travel. The new series is exec produced by Jim Casey and co-exec produced by John C. Fitzgerald and Ross Kaiman, with David E. Gerber exec producing for Travel.
