TF1 gets Sony option

Gallic commercial net gets first-look option

Sony Pictures Television Distribution has inked an all-rights volume deal giving Gallic commercial net TF1 a first-look option on Sony series, library titles and TV movies.

Pact allows TF1 to broadcast Sony programs on all its channels and new media supports, including VOD platform, TF1 Vision.

“With this agreement, the TF1 Group confirms its standing as a leading player for U.S. studios,” said Benoit Louvet, exec VP of acquisitions and distribution. “It will allow us to diversify and broaden our offer of series, TV films and films.”

Louvet added that TF1 has already nabbed rights to “Salt,” “The Amazing Spider-Man” and “The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn.”

“We have a strong television slate to offer TF1 schedulers, including several high-profile network series such as ‘Charlie’s Angels,’ ” said Noemie Weisse, Sony Pictures Television Distribution’s business development topper.

TF1 Group also has volume deals with WB and NBCUniversal.
