TF1, Facebook bow premium service

U.S. series available less than a day after U.S. broadcast

Gallic commercial network TF1 is launching Premium VOD Multi-Series, a Facebook application allowing users to watch select U.S. series less than 24 hours after their Stateside broadcast.

Series include “The Vampire Diaries,” “Criminal Minds,” “Grey’s Anatomy,” “The Mentalist,” “Person of Interest,” “Nikita,” “Gossip Girl” and “House.”

Facebook users will be able to stream the shows on the fan pages of each series for €1.99 ($2.60), and won’t have to subscribe to the service to gain access.

The more than 3 million fans registered on these fan pages will receive alerts when new episodes are available.

The series will also be featured on TF1’s MYTF1VOD platform.

TF1 bowed its VOD operation on Facebook this summer with comic Florence Foresti’s live show, and Julien Leclercq’s action-thriller “The Assault,” four months after its theatrical release.
