TBS, looking to beef up its comedy roster, has ordered a pilot of half-hour laffer “Sullivan and Son,” starring Steve Byrne.
Show takes place in a popular bar in Pittsburgh. Filled with locals and regulars, Sullivan and Son is the unofficial town hall to the neighborhood.
Byrne will write and exec produce with “Cheers” alum Rob Long.
Cabler is coming off a rough third quarter in which it was down 20% in total viewers (1.2 million vs. 1.5 million a year ago) and off significantly in all other demos.
TBS recently ordered an untitled laffer from exec producers Conan O’Brien, David Kissinger and Jeff Ross about a family man who quits his day job and returns to his hometown neighborhood.
Both projects are from Warner Horizon.
