Syfy renews ‘Being Human’ for second season

Supernatural show is second only to 'Galactica' in net's ratings

Syfy has renewed its fantasy/horror show “Being Human” for a second season. Program is officially the net’s most-watched scripted series since “Battlestar Galactica” with an average of 1.8 million viewers since its Jan. 17 launch over the course of its first nine episodes.

Series also skews majority female, with a viewership that is 53% femme — a demo that Syfy has been targeting as a growth prospect.

“Being Human” tracks the relationships of a ghost (Meagan Rath), a vampire (Sam Witwer) and a werewolf (Sam Huntington) who share an apartment in Boston and try to deal with the problems of their various supernatural states.

“Human” hails from Muse Entertainment and Zodiak USA.
