Syfy has given a six-episode order to docu-series “School Spirits” from Mark Burnett and Seth Jarrett. Production is set to begin Nov. 28.Skein will recount ghost stories that have emerged at schools across the country. The stories will be told in first-person narratives through the testimonials of students, teachers, parents and staff who claim to have encountered paranormal activity, with reenactments to help explain the circumstance. “School hauntings are some of the most terrifying first-hand accounts. The stories that have terrified generations of students and teachers are not for the faint of heart,” said Syfy topper Mark Stern. Jarrett has experience investigating the haunted. He is the creator of “Celebrity Ghost Stories,” which runs on the Bio cabler. Burnett has been busy as ever of late. He’s developing a handful of cable series at A&E and TNT as well as a mega project for History about the Bible. He also recently pacted to provide content for upstart digital network Youtoo TV.
