Music washes away Turner upfront woes
New YorkAdult Swim’s annual upfront bash always closes out upfront week’s festivities with a big act and high volume, and the night of May 18 was no exception. Jay-Z performed at the Roseland Ballroom to an aud that included Seth Green, Matthew Senreich, Ne-Yo and Aziz Ansari. It was a chance for Turner to redeem itself after a series of tech snafus derailed the morning’s Turner Entertainment Networks upfront. No execs, a 15-minute video presentation and a ton of food and music drove thoughts of an awkwardly vamping Ray Romano from most minds. – — Sam Thielman
