Nets to bow in Greece, Taiwan among others

AMC/Sundance Channel Global has inked carriage deals for distribution in five more countries for WE tv and Sundance Channel.

Sundance will be carried in Greece on OTE (Hellenic Telecommunications Organization), and in Hungary and the Czech and Slovak Republics via UPC Direct (an affiliate of cable provider UPC Broadband). Both Sundance Channel and WE tv will be carried in Taiwan on DishHD and telecom company Chungwa.

“Our new carriage deals highlight the growing demand for our entertainment services from some of Europe and Asia’s largest and most advanced content distributors,” said the company’s senior VP of global distribution, Ed Palluth.

Sundance will debut in Greece as a linear channel on IPTV and will be followed by satellite and VOD service. That network’s Eastern European affiliates will provide the channel in HD, while the Taiwanese carriers will launch both Sundance and WeTV in hi-def, as well.
