Just as Warner Bros. opens “Horrible Bosses,” star Jason Sudeikis is returning to his TV roots. The “Saturday Night Live” vet is set for a recurring role on the upcoming season of HBO’s “Eastbound & Down.”
Sudeikis will play Shane, a new friend of the politically incorrect ex-Major League pitcher Kenny Powers, played by Danny McBride. Second season of “Eastbound” & Down” found Powers playing pro baseball in Mexico, though he returned to his hometown of Shelby, N.C., in the season finale. Sudeikis’ feature career has been heating up recently, since having starred in the Farrelly Bros.’ “Hall Pass.” He plays Batman in Relativity Media’s Untitled Peter Farrelly/Charles Wessler Project and will next be seen in the indie comedy “A Good Old Fashioned Orgy,” skedded to open Sept. 2 through Samuel Goldwyn Films. Sudeikis is repped by CAA and Brillstein Entertainment Partners.Sudeikis set for ‘Eastbound & Down’
