Sony Pictures Television has hired Kim Rozenfeld as exec VP of current programming.
The studio confirmed Rozenfeld is stepping into a role that’s been vacant since February 2010, when Sony laid off Jeanie Bradley as part of layoffs at the company.
Rozenfeld will report to Zack Van Amburg and Jamie Erlicht, presidents of U.S. programming and production at SPT.
Rozenfeld comes to Sony from a production deal at ABC Studios, where his Half Full Entertainment had set up skein “Huge” for ABC Family. He produced there after being laid off as ABC senior VP and head of current programming in 2009.
The appointment marks a return to Sony for Rozenfeld, who began his career at Columbia TriStar TV. He’s also worked at VH1.
SPT’s current series include returning comedy “Rules of Engagement” and new dramas “Pan Am” and “Charlie’s Angels.”
