Showtime and NFL Films have inked a three-year extension of long-running football show “Inside the NFL,” as the series gets ready to kick off its fourth season on the pay cabler.
The series, which began on HBO in 1977 and moved to Showtime in 2008, is anchored by James Brown with NFL vets Cris Collinsworth, Phil Simms and Warren Sapp providing commentary. Series is produced by CBS Sports and NFL Films.
Deal was unveiled Tuesday by CBS Sports prexy Sean McManus as part of the net’s NFL Media Day in New York. The Eye’s coverage begins with a pair of primetime games this weekend (Green Bay-Indianapolis on Friday and New England-Detroit on Saturday).
