Schultz placed on unpaid leave for comments

MSNBC issues statement, says talk is 'unacceptable'

MSNBC’s Ed Schultz has been suspended without pay until June 6 after calling fellow radio host and cable news pundit Laura Ingraham a “right wing slut” and a “talk slut” on his syndicated show.

“MSNBC management met with Ed Schultz this afternoon and accepted his offer to take one week of unpaid leave for the remarks he made yesterday on his radio program,” said a net rep in a statement on Wednesday evening. “Ed will address these remarks on his show tonight, and immediately following begin his leave. Remarks of this nature are unacceptable and will not be tolerated.”

The remarks in question aired in Schultz’s Tuesday broadcast; today Ingraham posted a response to the invective on her Facebook page, saying the Schultz shouldn’t “preach civility but practice misogyny.”
