Relativity busy on TV front

New sales and distribution unit selling pics

Relativity Media is ramping up its TV sales and digital distribution unit.

Following last fall’s hiring of David Spiegelman as president of the division, Relativity has been selling a handful of pics from its theatrical side — “Limitless,” “Season of the Witch” and “Take Me Home Tonight” among them — to basic cablers looking to boost their movie slates.

On the electronic sell-through and video on demand fronts, Relativity has brokered longterm distribution output deals with digital, cable and satcasters.

Since coming aboard, Spiegelman’s hires include Christine Manna as senior VP of on demand licensing and Brendan Kelly as senior veep of television business administration.

“Relativity continues to fortify its infrastructure as a fully-integrated studio by adding television sales and digital distribution to its repertoire,” said Relativity president Michael Joe.
