'True Justice' is cable network's first original series

Reelzchannel has greenlit its first original series, a scripted drama starring Steven Seagal called “True Justice.”

Series is produced by Sojo Prods. and Voltage Pictures in association with Seagal’s shingle Steamroller. Seagal will play Elijah Kane, leader of a team of undercover cops in Seattle who duke it out with local criminals in what the net describes as a “high-octane style of enforcement.”

Seagal, Voltage principal Nicolas Chartier and Phillip B. Goldfine are set to exec produce. Keoni Waxman co-exec produces and directs. The series is set to preem on Reelz in March.

The deal includes a major promo push for Seagal on Reelz. Each hourlong episode will include a segment called “Seagal in 60 Seconds” featuring one of the thesp’s pics and directing viewers to an upcoming feevee or VOD showing. The network’s “Hollywood’s Top Ten” will devote an episode to his movies, among similar programming initiatives.
