Italo pubcaster also takes 'Stones in Exile'

LONDON — The Brits have sold a TV history of Italian opera — to the Italians.

Pubcaster RAI picked up “Opera Italia,” presented by conductor Antonio Pappano, from BBC Worldwide at the BBC’s 35th Showcase mart, which is taking place in the English coastal resort of Brighton.

RAI also bought “Stones in Exile,” an insight into the recording of the Rolling Stones’ “Exile on Main Street” album, and “U2 at the BBC,” a behind-the-scenes look at U2 performing in London.

Cielo Television, part of Sky Italia, acquired John Lennon biopic “Lennon: Naked” starring Christopher Eccleston.
