Syndicated daytime talker “Jeff Probst” has passed the halfway point in distribution across the country in advance of its fall 2012 premiere.Hosted by the longtime “Survivor” frontman and sold by CBS Television Distribution, the hourlong “Probst” has been sold in 16 of the top 20 U.S. markets and is set to go with NBC-owned stations in Los Angeles, New York, Philadelphia, Dallas, San Francisco, Miami, San Diego and Hartford. Other station groups making buys of the show include CBS Television Stations, Gannett Broadcasting Group, Post-Newsweek Stations, Belo Corp, Cox Television, Scripps Howard Broadcasting and LIN Television. “Jeff has the ingredients to become an instant asset to stations and provide a strong lead in to their newscasts,” CBS TV Distribution prexy John Nogawski said. Probst will remain with CBS’ “Survivor” while undertaking this new endeavor.
