Pino, Giddish join ‘SVU’ cast

Show transitions from Meloni, Hargitay

Danny Pino and Kelli Giddish will join the cast of “Law & Order: SVU.”

They come to the long-running NBC procedural in the wake of Christopher Meloni’s decision to bow out and Mariska Hargitay’s plan to exit about halfway through the coming season, the show’s 13th on the Peacock.

Pino is known for his role on CBS’ “Cold Case.” Giddish starred last season on the NBC actioner “Chase” and previously on Fox’s “Past Life.”

“I know this combination will give us the opportunity to explore the world of ‘SVU’ with new eyes,” said series creator Dick Wolf, who exec produces with Warren Leight, Ted Kotcheff and Peter Jankowski.
