NBC is adding Chelsea Clinton to its correspondent roster, according to a report by the New York Times on Monday morning.
Clinton will begin immediately, working on the “Making a Difference” series for “NBC Nightly News.”
Clinton expressed interest in a position to news division prexy Steve Capus in July; Capus told the Times that it seemed wise to have “somebody who was going to do really captivating feature assignments” for “Making a Difference,” which may also be added to tyro newsmag “Rock Center With Brian Williams.”
It’s not the first time NBC has offered a position to a former president’s daughter — George W. Bush’s daughter, Jenna Bush Hager, is a correspondent for “Today.”
Clinton did not give interviews regarding the announcement.
