New prexy to run distribution and acquisition
MGM has promoted Chris Ottinger to president of international TV distribution and acquisitions.
Ottinger will oversee all distribution and acquisition activities in concert with teams in Los Angeles, London and elsewhere globally, reporting to MGM television group and digital prexy Roma Khanna.
“In his time at MGM, Chris has proven himself to be a dynamic and excellent executive,” Khanna said. “I have no doubt that he will be a fantastic leader for our growing international TV business,” said Khanna.
Most recently EVP of worldwide television, Ottinger supervised MGM’s international pay television business and television production and development activities. He returned to MGM in 2007 after stints with Paramount International Television and Fox World and Fox Television Studios International.
Earlier this week, MGM worldwide television co-prexy Gary Marenzi announced his departure, which came weeks after the hiring of NBCUniversal alum Khanna (who officially starts July 5) to boost the profile of television at MGM. Marenzi had also been with MGM since 2007.
