Thesps, showrunner set for June 30 confab

ANNECY — The cast and showrunner of hit Brit TV drama “Merlin” are among high-profile guests set to attend the third Comic Con Paris, a four-day convention, which kicks off June 30.

“Merlin” stars Colin Morgan, Bradley James, Katie McGrath, as well as writer and co-creator Julian Jones, will bring sorcery, swords and medieval adventures to the event with a dedicated Merlin day, featuring a Q&A with fans, an exclusive screening of two episodes from series three and a fan signing.

“Merlin” airs in France on cabler Canal Plus and DTT channels NRJ12 and Gulli. Season three will bow this year. Showed aired on NBC and Syfy Stateside.

“France is an important territory for ‘Merlin’ and I am really happy that the French fans will now have the opportunity to meet the heroes and the creator of the series at Comic Con Paris,” said Nathalie Delin, VP of licensing in France for FremantleMedia Enterprises.

Event will also welcome two guests of honor: Steven Moffat, showrunner and exec producer of “Doctor Who” and co-creator of “Sherlock,” and comicbook artist and scribe J. Scott Campbell, who co-created the TV series “Danger Girl.”

Other notable attendees include producer Gale Anne Hurd, “The Walking Dead” exec producer Colin Morgan and “Hero Corp” creator Simon Astier.
