LONDON — The U.K.’s Cineflix International Distribution has sold its biggest ever content package to an Italian web.
Deal involves 69 hours of factual fare to commercial broadcaster Mediaset, which will air on Italia 1 and upstart channel Italia 2 starting this month. Titles covered by the agreement include ”Weird or What?” fronted by William Shatner, which attempts to find scientific explanations for mysteries and phenomena; ”Paradise Lost,” recounting stories of doomed travelers, and ”Murder She Solved: True Crime,” focusing on female cops involved in murder cases. The arrangement builds on a relationship with Mediaset that goes back to 2006, when the pair signed an output deal.
