Gotham-based Monroe to step down at end of year

Courteney Monroe, HBO’s exec VP of consumer marketing and digital platforms, is ankling the pay cabler.

At the network for 13 years and leaving at the end of the year, Monroe is exiting HBO because the long-distance commute between her Gotham office and Washington, D.C., where she lives, became too much to overcome.

Responsible for the HBO and Cinemax brands and their respective programming across all platforms, Monroe worked closely with HBO co-president Eric Kessler in the development and deployment of HBO Go.

Monroe worked on campaigns for dozens of HBO series and minis, including “The Sopranos,” “True Blood,” “Game of Thrones” and “The Pacific.”
