Campaign aims to promote healthy living through dance
Larry King and “So You Think You Can Dance” exec producer Nigel Lythgoe have partnered on an initiative to promote better health through dancing with a campaign dubbed Dance 4 Your Life.
The Larry King Cardiac Foundation and the Dizzy Feet Foundation, of which Lythgoe is a co-founder, created Dance 4 Your Life to promote the role dancing can play in maintaining a healthy lifestyle, combating obesity and improving heart health.
The effort will be heavily promoted around National Dance Day, which Lythgoe launched last year as an annual celebration of hoofing to be held on the last Saturday in July.
Dance 4 Your Life aims to make National Dance Day’s premise of promoting exercise through dance to all age groups a year-round initiative. This national health campaign will involve an information program and a nationwide dance celebration leading up to National Dance Day on July 30.
Dance 4 Your Life is partnering with Six Flags, which will host the official National Dance Day events.
Adam Shankman, Carrie Ann Inaba and Katie Holmes are also co-founders of the Dizzy Feet Foundation.
