Lopez, Anthony to Univision

Net picks up 'Q'Viva! The Chosen'

An unscripted series from “American Idol” creator Simon Fuller, Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony has landed Univision as its first U.S. outlet as the show lines up partners for its planned global launch early next year.

The partners are still shopping for a domestic English-lingo home.

“Q’Viva! The Chosen” will also air on Televisa in Mexico and Caracol TV in Colombia. The series, which showcases Latin music and culture, is expected to sign as many as 21 different broadcast partners. Some of the 21 countries including those in North and South America will be first for a simultaneous airdate projected for the first quarter of next year. “Q’Viva!” will also have a Portuguese-language version.

Endemol is also attached as a production and distribution partner to Fuller’s XIX Entertainment.

The fate of “Q’Viva!” seemed in question back in July when Lopez and Anthony split up after a seven-year marriage, but both are expected to appear on air for the series, which will continue shooting at locations around the world through January.

Jamie King is also an exec producer and director of “Q’Viva!”; he also appears on camera.
