Gay cable network OKs spinoff
Logo is officially creating a franchise out of “The A-List”: The gay lifestyle cabler has greenlit a spinoff of the reality show, renewing the “The A-List: New York” and extending the brand to include a Dallas edition a la Bravo’s “Real Housewives” — a comparison the net has openly invited since it greenlit the original series.
Net has also greenlit 10 episodes of PB&J Television’s hourlong reality show “Sex Rx” (working title), which explores sex addiction. Show is slated to bow this fall.
“RuPaul’s Drag Race” companion series “Untucked: RuPaul’s Drag Race” can celebrate its first renewal: Show will be back with more backbiting for 12 half-hours in winter 2012. “Drag Race” proper (if that’s the word) will also return in winter 2012 with 14 new hourlong episodes.
Season two of “The A-List: New York” and the inaugural “The A-List: Dallas” will both have 11 hourlong episodes, with “New York” premiering in the summer and “Dallas” slated for fall. Shows are produced by Steven Weinstock and Glenda Hersh for True Entertainment.
Logo will also bring back its “NewNowNext Awards” for 2012.
