Chelsea Handler is exec producing a potential unscripted series starring Lisa Lampanelli for Logo, one of four projects the cabler has greenlit for development.
Carol Leifer has also created and has the lead role in a single-cam scripted comedy, while former MTV execs Tony DiSanto and Liz Gateley are partnering with ex-NBC entertainment chief Ben Silverman on a dance and ballet reality project.
“Big Loud Lisa” proposes to follow stand-up comedian Lampanelli as she and her husband juggle their recent marriage with her life on the road. Handler and Tom Brunelle of Borderline Amazing Prods. are exec producing with Lampanelli and Parallel.
Leifer’s “Out in the Burbs” offers a snapshot of a woman and her partner in their suburban life. Troy Miller is exec producing with Leifer.
DiSanto left his post as MTV programming prexy in September and recruited longtime lieutenant Gateley (head of series development) to join him, with the pair setting up shingle DiGa with Silverman’s Electus. “Ballet Beach” will chronicle the members of a Miami dance and ballet company as they push themselves to the limit. Beach Pictures is also producing.
In addition, Ken Mok (“America’s Next Top Model”) is exec producing “Design My Dog” for Mok’s 10×10 Prods. Each week, four dog owners are paired with a fashion designer to create new looks in canine couture. The reward: a cash prize and a dog calendar contract.
