Cerritos is first city to participate

The Southern California community of Cerritos is the first city to participate in the Launching the Zone program of the Location Managers Guild of America. As part of the initiative, LMGA members will tour the city April 3 to view potential filming locations. The program is designed to keep jobs in the Los Angeles region by exploring filming opportunities within the 302010>mile studio zone. The studio zone is used by union film projects to determine per diem rates and driving distances for crew members. The center of the studio zone is located at the southeast corner of Beverly and La Cienega in Los Angeles. More than 90 cities and parts of Los Angeles, Orange and Ventura counties fall within the zone. Recently, the TV shows “Chuck” and “Undercovers” were filmed at the Cerritos Center for the Performing Arts.
