Frankel signs two-year deal with TV division

Lionsgate has inked Eli Frankel, senior VP development at Magical Elves, to a two-year overall deal with its TV division.

Frankel, who helped shepherd reality hits including “Top Chef” and “Project Runway,” will ramp up unscripted development at Lionsgate, which is better known for its scripted programming. He reports to Kevin Beggs, president of Lionsgate TV Group.

“Creating successful non-scripted programming is an ongoing priority for Lionsgate,” said Begg.s, “and we’re excited that Eli will be joining us in this effort.”

Prior to Magical Elves, Frankel worked at Pilgrim Films and Television, and director of alternative series development at CBS.
